Jr. Graphic Designer

Position Type: Full Time, In House, Hourly Position

Summary: This is an entry-level design position. The right candidate will be comfortable working with InDesign, and enjoys page layout, and will be willing to perform production work, including clipping, color correction and product mock-ups. In addition to catalog design and support, you may also be asked to perform other department support functions including the development of spec packages, film output and maintaining department archives.

Local candidates preferred.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Responsible for designing catalogs, from concept to completion
2. Provide catalog support to other designers by clipping and color correcting photos and creating product mock ups
3. Oversee print production and attend press checks when necessary
4. Assist Art Directors with the development of product spec packages
5. Produce accurate and high quality work, while meeting deadlines
6. Manage multiple projects, while meeting strict deadlines
7. Communicate with Art directors and PLMs to understand their needs/goals
8. Work well in a team, with other designers, printers, product line managers, web site designers and marketing specialists
9. Assist with the development of production handbooks and licensee CDs and packages
10. Maintenance of Creative Department archives
11. Backing up your projects quarterly (ads, artwork, catalogs and misc. jobs)
12. Researching and keeping abreast of industry trends (art, action sports & apparel)
13. Keeping abreast of developments in IT, particularly design programs
14. Computer trouble shooting
15. Travel as necessary

Qualifications/Requirements:
B.A/B.S. degree in Art or Graphic Design, or equivalent design experience
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
Able to work in a fast paced environment and meet daily and weekly deadlines
Team player with a great attitude
Strong organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated
Ability to multi-task and work independently
Interest in action sports, a plus.
